Cheer Squad Behaviour

Post by themilleys »

If there are any Cheer Squad members out there get onto SEN talkback. They are giving the cheer squad a pasting for the incidents on Saturday Night.

Call 9429 1116 and show some solidarity

OH NO :(

Please let us know what is being said - I am at work and cannot listen, nor call up.

This has got to stop... it isn't good enough for them that we are on the bottom of the ladder yet they still try and bring us down.

there has been multiple callers saying the cheer squad was chanting " milne is a rapist "

One supposed cheer squad member from glenroy rang up and apologised for throwing ice at a st kilda supporter. He said it was a tradition of the cheer squad and that he and his 80 year old grandmother or mother enjoyed getting drunk in the cheer squad.

One caller has made a complaint to collingwood as he isnt a cheer squad member but had reserved tickets in the area and was told he wasnt allowed to have a beer and was "hounded down " by cheer squad members when he asked them to stop swearing. He said it was the worst time he has had at the football in 20 years.

Calls saying Cheer Squad was inciting violence at a bar at the ground after the match.

The problem with these calls is that it could just be people spinning stories (happens a lot on talkback) and unfortunantely it is an outlet for them to be heard.

Thank you for posting those though.

Alcohol is not allowed to be drunk in the cheersquad area at all - it seems strange doesn't it that one guy was 'hounded down' for drinking alcohol and you have a guy that rings up saying he and his Grandmother enjoy getting drunk?

I think that says it all about those calls.

The only area I am aware of where public seats are sold in or around the CS area are the back rows near where I sit and I can say I didn't see an incident where anyone told anyone else to stop swearing.

Hmm... pretty sad.

If you were to ask me SEN is a low ethical broadcaster in terms of their standard.

1. There is no proof what so ever in regards to these allegations. They are just "here say". If SEN were a half serious radio station they would take down the complaints and forward them to the club and get the club to investigate the claims and expose these "hoax" callers for the FOOLS that they are.

2. Isnt it funny when the bottle incident doesnt look like it came from a Collingwood cheersquad member nothing has been mentioned since. So it was only going to be followed through if it was a Cheersquad member. What a crock.

Apparently the guy with the reserved seats has rung the club and made a complaint.

Thats fine - he will be able to have given his seat numbers and we know where everyone sits etc so if it is in fact, true it can be dealt with. :)

It seems DrRoache rang up about the grain of salt. :)

I also think the seating arrangements need to be reviewed at year end. I hate how the cheersquad always have General Public ticket holders around us. Most of which go to a game once in a blue moon by the way that they act.

we are legends members and we sit in Isle 48 for away games at telstra dome. We are near the right hand point post. We absolutely love those seats and we are right in the action and the atmosphere and noise is amazing.

just so everyone knows, the Milne is a rapist chant came from us up the back, nothing to do with the Cheer Squad. We chanted it because one of the guys knows what happened, i wont spill the details due to legalities but we did it.

Dont worry about SEN, they're full of it and people are just trying to slag our club. It has taken until today for all this to come out so it is not worth worrying about. People are trying to create a rift and saying that people drink in the CS etc, this is all being made up just to p1ss Ed off.

We have had our moments but deep down mate i respect ya and what i like about you is you speak openly and honestly, i appreciate you openly admitting the 'milne is a rapist' chant had nothing to do with the cheer squad for some reason the cheer squad has copped it big time this week and when i heard that complaints have been made about the cheer squad using this chant i nearly died.
Thanks Mick

yeah we are legends too, we have seats in aisle 3 for away games, we love those seats too, they are better than our home seats. Our seats for home games are all the way over in aisle 6 which is good but the closer to the CS the better.
