My view of the game is this. The Saints had a purple patch for 10 minutes at the end of the second quarter. They kicked a stack of goals and half of them were not our mistakes but the way the tide was going...the bounce of the ball favouring one side...it happens in footy every week.
Bad kicking is bad football sure, but some of our *many* points, if converted, would have made the game on the scoreboard reflect what I saw...
And that was a Magpie TEAM who are fast and furious...they tackle tough...they OWN the turf they stand on...they Stut with chests out, pushing opponents off with an arrogant hand...thinking football...single minded and INTELLIGENT!
When you are fast and balance and focused, it's the opposition that gets stretched...it's they who bounce off YOU...and get stretchered!...it was the Saints falling over like wounded soldiers.
I don't know how we managed to recruit all these young and mature stars so fast...but I'm impressed with evey one of them...the club hierachy needs a STANDING OVATION.
I have NEVER seen so many players turn up at the one time in one club with so much talent and commitment. Each week we see flashes of TEAM brilliance that I've not sighted for years.
Mark my words...I am waiting for us to explode...one day we will convert the misses into goals and we'll play 4 quarters of fast tough, intimidating foorball. We'll break a few records...and they gonna FEAR us!!!
