Just read the article in the Hun. I think this would be a mistake. Rhyce has shown enough at times he should be kept on, same with Mcgough losing these blokes to bitchmond or the scum will hurt us nearly as much as Scotland's goal did last week? Opinons?

Players leaving a team will apparently always hurt you in retrospect, as is the case with Damien Adkins apparently and his blistering pace, however, there is little point preventing someone from achieving their potential at your club on that basis. Essentially, Rhyce has been at the club for 5 seasons now for a total of 39 games. He is on Ben Kinnear speed at the moment.

What are you supposed to do? If he's not getting opportunities at Collingwood and would be a good fit elsewhere, you do what you can to get the kid to a good club and get something in return. Its a business, you have to make business decisions. Bottom line, he's probbaly getting pushed out of the team right now by Ben Johnson, Ryan Lonie and Julian Rowe to a degree. The Shaw name carries a heap of tradtion at Collingwood, but tradition builds your club, it doesn't win you a premiership.

Should have a read on the Richmond web site, (Punt Road End) and see what they think of Shaw.

Nobody wants him, pace dosen't matter its how fast you move the ball that counts, look at Greag Williams, he is as slow as, but moved the ball lightning quick, and for something different he had skill.

yeah I know I know I'm too bloody sentimental. But I would just hate to see him or mcgough carve us up at another club!

If our player spend the next 6 months in the gym and learning to kick we will carve everyone up.

Every player needs to learn how to kick both feet and hit a target.

If McGough could kick he would be the new Greg Williams, does everything except dispose of the thing right.

PRACTICE

Shaw just lacks courage, he is like a rabbit in the head lights.

Well said, its a huge sin that players in all teams throughount still can't kick on both feet at this level ! Yeah I know Shaw lacks courage but I think he has shown something at times. But having said that if their is a trade that will advance the side then so be it!

What a load of tripe!

Seriously guys, if they can't kick when you draft them, unless they are from Serbia Montenegro and are on exhange or experiment, don't pick them up. They have got to have more goimng for them than being quick or the right build. Recruiters obviously know if kids can play or not, but the disposal issue is bullshit. At 18, you'd think a guy can kick the ball properly. It doesn't come down the practice, the responsibility for this arguement lays a lot further down the road.

Irritates me when people say he can't kick.......then why the hell did we draft him, the name of the game is FOOTball, not freaking athletics.

i agree, but we have so many kids that cant kick.

I think it was trhe Ex hawthorn coach who said it about 10 weeks ago, that Hawthorn would draft anyone who didnt know the basics of kicking.

Its a crime.

run fast.

We have got to stop worrying about whether players will play a one off good game against us, in the future. Sometimes you have to cut players because they aren't performing. Geez, even the great Michael Jordan was cut from his first team.

Continuing with the basketball analogy the Lakers traded Shaq away. Clearly he is going to hurt them when they play but the move was for the greater good of the team. That is what trading is all about.

it was shaq's dollars that got him axed. not his ability or greater team good apart from contracts.

yes the lakers had a problem where do they sign an aging superstar to another mega bucks contract like shaq wanted or have him leave for nothin when his current contract expired. So they dealt him for 3 average players. Every team in the league wanted shaq. not sure everyone wants rhyce, but I'm sure he's flattered for the comparison.

I've completely lost the plot....

Lets lay it down here.

Rhyce Shaw aint black
Rhyce Shaw aint got superman tatt on his arm
Rhyce Shaw aint a millionaire
Rhyce Shaw aint a superstar
Rhyce Shaw aint 7ft 1inch and 345 pounds of muscle
Rhyce Shaw doesn 't put bums on seats
Rhyce Shaw doesn't have 3 premierships to his name

Shaq isn't the son of Ray Shaw
Shaq probably couldn't kick a football that well
Shaq is probably a better mark than Rhyce
Shaq is slower than Rhyce
Shaq and Rhyce have similar amounts of hair
Shaq doesn't have big dark eyebrows
Shaq probably isn't scared of Jonathon Brown

Can we trade Rhyce for Shaq?
