Have heard from a reliable source that Collingwood are looking into a trade that would involved Rhyce Shaw being sent to the West Coast Eagles for Michael Braun.

What do we think?

My source was 99% sure that Rhyce hadn't been involved in discussions at this time and that the last words spoken between himself and the club were that he was a required player last year.

Malthouse actively sought Braun last year but West Coast wanted to keep him on, but with Kerr, Fletcher, Cousins and Judd now controlling the midfield and Braun being more the in and under player, he's said to be looking at finishing his career in Victoria, being a country boy himself. Shaw was mentioned in discussions as a quick player who will travel well in the open spaces of Subiaco and faster track you get in WA.

We need silky smooth receivers though. Although I would be interested in Braun. How old is he though? He has been a for a few years now hasn't he?

I'd do it, probably will never happen though.

I would do it if it came up. But it won't. They'd want something better. Braun wanted to go abck with MM along with Chad Morrison in 2000 when MM came over. I'd have a look into him for sure.

Like it matters if a player is involved in discussions about his future.

Can everyone say 'Woewodin'?

Agree, WC wont accept a deal like that - i mean why would they dissadvantage themselves by trading quality with shit!!

I cant see Rhyce playing too many more games at a quality club, unless he goes to hawthorne or the bulldogs he will strugle to make the starting 18 in a top eight side!! :?

Heard on SEN that Morrison was looking for a change of scenery. Not saying that Shaw was to be the trade material though. Just worth some thought. I confident that Ed, Swan, Balme and MM are more aggressive this year as indicated by their approach to Goddard so I'm sure they would be assessing opportunities as they arise. This, of course, does not mean these players are coming to Collingwood, just that we are definitely in the game and hunting.

Morrison? change of scenary? what has he done to look for anything ... unless he plans to pursue something other than AFL ... he can't be a chooser yet.
