RIP Hooker Harrison my dad tells me of the delight it was to watch him take apart barrassi in 58. Him and Wiedermann were a sight to behold.
Condolences to his family.

Now there's a very strange coincidence.
I was reading about Hooker Harrison just the other day. In a book written by the legendary newspaper reporter, Jack "The Ace" Ayling.
Jack Ayling was involved in organising the Truth swim across Port Phillip Bay in the late 1960s ... and Hooker Harrison was one of the contestants.
From what I've read about the 1958 Grand Final, it was the biffo of Weideman and Harrison that really put Melbourne off their game long enough for Collingwood to steal a match-winning break on them.
Hooker sounds like a guy with a lot of guts ... anyone who can swim across Port Phillip Bay must be made of pretty stern stuff.

Really sad news, I am too young to have ever seen him play, and really haven't heard of him, I bet if I asked my dad though, he would be able to tell me about him.
RIP.

Some day they will find someone better to design these websites, maybe then we will hear about news like this.

If we spoke to Eddie we (Maybe) could make Nicks the official site? Probably would never happen but it would be good. The CFC site is poor, slow to load, little or no content and plenty of ads. Just go to Nicks for all your Magpie information.

That's a disgrace he's not honored on the offical website. Anyone who played a crucial role in winning a flag and stopping barrassi should be given a state funeral.
