If Scott wants out, would it be worth offering O'B, McG or maybe even Mullins and/or Nixon?

West is probably scared that Eade will want him to be accountable.

I can't see him going anywhere. The Bombers would be stupid to recruit a 30yr old.

Joel.....Essendon have a habitual interest in drafting 30 year olds.
Note:
Justin Murphy
Matthew Allen
John Barnes
Paul Salmon
I think the kicker would be that given he is contracted ton the dogs for another two years, getting equality in the trade would be a big aspect for Eade. And giving up your primary ball winner and stoppage player, the Dogs would be seeking a Johnson (Mark or Jason), Peverill or similar player and I couldn't see Sheedy giving a 25 year old for a 30 year old. That'd be the difference I think.

What's the point though? Do they think they are one player off a premiership or something?

It would actually be a smart move by the Dogs, but one I'm sure they don't have the balls to make. West is not far off finished (2, maybe 3 good season left) and the Dogs are at least four years away from being genuine contendors. If they are smart they will trade away most of there older players and replace them with quality youth who are ready for an assault in the coming years.
All blokes like West and Grant are doing at the Dogs is bidding there time until their careers have finshed. It would be a positive move for the club and individual if they moved on and tried their luck elsewhere.

recruiting 30 to 65 year olds is what essendon do best. West isn't worth it we need an up and comer or a ready made midfielder in his early 20s.

Couldn't agree with you more on this one mate. Personally I don't know about the Bombers, definately more than one player off a premiership but not sure who that player is. They seem to play without a CHB or CHF for most of the year as Lucas is a flanker and Bolton struggles to play KP with consistency. Would have thought they'd be seeking some book ends rather than another midfielder, mind you Mr.Llyod did request that Sheeds go and get him a quality midfielder to deliver the ball to him....mind you, Westy doesn't have the cleanest foot skills in the comp.
All very interesting.

I think what Sheedy is trying to do is, try a quick fix, instead of trying to build a long term team, he wants success now.

The Bulldogs trading West would be like us trading Bux, the guy is about to win his 6th B&F so I think he deserves to be shown a bit of loyality and I don't think Eade is the sort of guy to trade one of the clubs all time greats

Such as one of Cameron Bruce, Luke Ball, or Nick Dal Santo

Why does West get so many possessions? Because playing on him frees up a midfielder. He rarely hurts you.
