Joel Smith would fit in well at CFC

Post by Jesso »

From just mucking around on afl.com.au i found at poll that said Joel Smith from Hawthorn is up on the market! I can't understand why Collingwood havent pounced on him.
So We Give Hawthorn:
Either
Cole and 3rd Pick
or
Lokan and 3rd Pick
What you guys think?

cant believe you put lokan and cole in the same breath.

Second, joel smith is shit.

He plays wide, and needs to cut his hair, although that has nothing to do with it. But anyone that fails to repay his club for their commitment to him when they had a serious knee injury, for more money...

Doesnt deserve to be at collingwood. PERIOD.

Hawthorn's Joel Smith is considering a new contract offer from the Hawks, delivered on Friday.

Originally, Smith was understood to be dissatisfied with contract negotiations and on the verge of asking to be traded.
This was at the bottom of the Scott West article.

Wont even consider trading Ritchie. How could you compare him with Lokan? :o

Our third pick has already been used on T. Cloke. We would have to trade for a third round pick elsewhere to do this.

I don't mind the idea of Smith coming to Collingwood but I think his expectations will exceed his market value. Travis Johnstone would be a better pick up for around the same money.

Good pick up labrooy. I was about to ask where this so-called third round pick was going to come from.

Seeing as though everyone seems to think our best dealing tool is a player plus pick three, maybe we can offer our second pick for someone else's third pick as a straight trade!

Cole is a far better prospect than Smith any day. I cant believe you would seriously consider trading him at all.

Collingwood should stay away from Joel Smith. Do not trade any player for Joel Smith let alone Cole.

We dont need half back flankers.
Its time to hurt all that come before us.

A very overrated player - steer clear of him. Most of his stats come from him kicking it to himself at kick-ins.
I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within.

would be a nice pick up but not for a good player, as others have pointed out he wont play up to his market value, so to speak, so he would come at too high a cost. I don't think he's as bad as people are saying, this year they were all crap at the Hawks so thinking back to previous years he was ok, and he's versitile. He'd fit in well at th ePies no doubt, but he wouldn't add that much considering we've got Lonie, Cole, BJ etc.

I'd prefer to keep Cole. The kid has plenty in him. I think he has a bright future. Joel Smith is nearing the end if his career. Therefore, probably not a good idea to pick him up unless we get him cheap.
