I think a lot of times people confused consistent with shallow. If the quality remains consistent throughout much of this class, players don't tend to distinguish themselves as well.
Also, if the general quality of players is higher, then when they're playing, they're playing against better opposition, and they're not going to look as good.
You hear about most of these guys that get drafted high up and about how in their local competitions they just dominated everyone. If there was a whole lot of players all at that same high level though, the domination wouldn't have occurred, and it could lead some people to thinking these guys weren't top notch prospects.
Physical performance does not necessarily mean great footy, but for a team that needs speed, it could be good for us that these guys are physically impressive.

It was in the paper yesterday. My 'sources' were the newspaper, and SEN.

Not another 'my sources informed me..' thread!
Well, my sources informed me that several big name Collingwood players will walk if certain trades aren't completed successfully. These players know who is needed to get them back to the highs of 2002/03.
I then finished my 'source' and opened another.

Umfortunately there is a big difference between an athelete and a footballer. And i'll think you find the record breakers are athletes and not footballers.

That's a good point Presti, but if you look at a lot of the guys who hold the records for these things, they've turned out to be pretty good footballers, if not superstars.
However, tell me you're not slightly intrigued by a guy who had the best results in all three of running vertical jump, the agility test, and the 20m sprint. Danyle Pierce could be something special.
Then again, if he can outrun everyone, balk them out, and jump over them, there's got to something seriously wrong with his game for him not to be tipped as a top pick. Maybe he's only got one arm or something
