Who is likely to be available in the PSD?

Post by vinnie_vegas69 »

I was just reading in the Herald Sun that Troy Simmonds is almost a lock to go to Richmond, either via trade or the Pre Season Draft.

With Hawthorn talking about resigning Joel Smith, likely giving them very little cap room, and Western having their perennial cap problems, is there a possibility of a very good player being available at that #4 pick in the PSD?

If an Ottens deal cannot be done, he could potentially be in there. Likewise, if Clint Bizzell and Melbourne can't reach an agreement, he could also be available.

I was just wondering your thoughts, and if I'm overlooking something...

Johnstone could be available, although this could change any day.

In realisty Bizell will resign, Joohnstone would be taken by someone before us, Simmonds will be traded and Ottens wont be there at pick 4. Carr wants to go to Freo so not much point getting him, maybe best we could look at is Morrison, which I'd take quite happily.

Sounds like the Simmonds to Richmond may have fallen through with the ruckman looking to be signed for four years at Freo.

Bizzell, Ottens, Morrison and Lekkas are all players who could end up in the PSD. Also Joel Smith.

Does anybody know if clubs are allowed to trade their PSD picks away?

I doubt Michael will leave the Lions. And if he comes back, the strong whisper is that he is off to the Blues.

We have a pick in the PSD draft before the Blues. No chance we would let him slip past. Unless you meant Blues will trade for him.

Mal Michael is under contract no way Lions would let him go.

I read this morning the smug Shockers could push Carr into the PSD.

If so, carr would end up at the Hawks for a year before being traded to the Dockers. The Power lose in a trade - again.
