I think it is becoming more and more apparant that players who go interstate will return to the state of birth in about 3-4 years. Thompson, Stenglin and now Simmonds and we can all see that a few more will return in a year or two.
Chris Connolly on SEN this morning admitted that Simmonds will become a Tiger, and from the tone of the voice it came across as Richmond weren't remotely interested in a trade and it'll be the PSD for the snake lover.
I don't think you can say the were dudded on Clemo, the guy was struggling for games at Fremantle and he sought an opportunity elsewhere, its something that happens all the time.
That said the Simmonds deal is a big hurt for the Dockers. He was bought in as part of the Jeff White as is the best of my recollection and now that he's on the way out, there is very little they have to show for it.
Simmonds showed very little while he was at Freo anyway. I wouldn't be interested although free in the PSD is ahrdly a big price to pay. He will ask for and get a good salary though and he will be overpaid.
