The SEN 3pm News update said the Pies are making big play for Joel Smith, apparently we have offered him a 'lucrative contract'.
This is no BS, they actually said it.

Yes. If we get Smith we can release the likes of Cole or BJ up to the midfield. Gives us more pace in the midfield.

I wouldn't mind him, as long as it's not for pick 7. Maybe he would be involved in some sort of deal in regards to O'Bree. It was said yesterday that O'Bree might be headed to Hawthorn, so you never know.

Smith is very good. I'd love him at Collingwood. more than happy to offer a lucrative contract but what is the trade price? At his age I wouldn't offer pick 7. A second rounder and a fringe player would be fine.

Dermie was asked about O'Bree on SEN last night and he gave a very quick and very definate no.

Otherwise, we might get him in the PSD. He is yet to sign a new contract, even though the Hawks seem to think they are close.

Perhaps we have told him not to re-sign and we will get him in the PSD. I wouldn't mind that. He is 27, so he has a few years in him yet.
