Who can we target in the Uncontracted Player Draft?
We probably still have the greatest financial scope to land the best player in this draft. Who are the candidates now that the trading is done?

We won't know until after the 31st.
Clubs have to now prune back their lists to a maximum of 35 players heading into the National Draft in November. If a player is contracted to them, he's contracted until the 31st, so if still retained on a list at the 29th, he can't nominate for the National Draft and has to wait until he becomes an uncontracted player and can then either negotiate a new deal with his club or nominate for the PSD in December.

Actually b$w4l, an unreasonable pay request would be what's needed. he has to get past 3 other clubs and Richmond have offloaded Otten's salary and Gaspar has taken a cut. They might have some space given they would always have planned on taking someone with their 1st PSD pick. I think I'd rather Clint Bizell anyway. Did he re sign?

No. Nor had TJ. And there may well be more deciding to chance their luck in the PSD.MarkT wrote:Actually b$w4l, an unreasonable pay request would be what's needed. he has to get past 3 other clubs and Richmond have offloaded Otten's salary and Gaspar has taken a cut. Mark, the other dimension here is whether those clubs will have the cash to spare? Cap space is one thing but they still need to find the money to pay salaries. If Wallace decides to invest in kids, and has off-loaded Ottens and makes further economies, why would he then go and throw it away on an over-priced player in the PSD?

Richmond are going for Bowden from the Western Bulldogs right?
That means Hawks and Bulldogs are the ones we need to ensure the offer is bigger than and from what I've read both teams are near their limits as far as cap room and finances go.
Therefore I reckon we have good chance to get someone good.

If Richmond forget Bowden then excellent for us. The kid can seriously play footy. I'd love for him to be our 3rd / 4th tall forward.
Bulldogs are at 98% of the cap from what I read. Hawthorn just resigned Smith for more than the wanted so potentially they are close to full as well. I reckon we are in with a good chance of landing someone good.
