Recent convert to the AFL game Brad Moran from Southport in Queensland this week set a new benchmark for the AFL speed test with a flying 2.78 second record for the 20 metre speed test as the AFL's screening of talent continued around Australia.

Moran only picked up on AFL football 12 months ago after his family shifted to Queensland from Stratford in England in search of a warmer climate with a strong sporting culture. With a soccer, rugby union and rowing background the 200cm Moran has made rapid progress in AFL representing Queensland in the National Bank's AFL Under 18 Championships this year and last month won Best on the Ground honours for Southport at Reserve level in the AFL Queensland grand final.

The time of 2.78 seconds for 20 metres surpassed the previous best 2.79 second record held by Western Bulldogs Steven Koops (1995) and young Sturt midfielder Danyle Pearce who equalled the long standing record at the National Bank's AFL Draft Camp last week.
Excellent pace for someone of 200cms. Worth a look if still available at #10?

Bit tall for a midfielder, though, eh Dale?!

A quick 200 cm player is worth gold when he matures. 10 might be a bit too much to punt though. Maybe 23 but even then it's a big punt. On the other hand it's about there we got Nixon 2 years ago.

If he's lanky we're a shoe in to take him.

With his pace, I can picture him on a wing.

Then again, it doesn't matter how much pace you have if you can't handle the pill when you get it.

Anyway, my point was his pace for someone so tall.

Perfect CHB. Chad Cornes style but quicker.
