Collingwood chief executive Greg Swann said the club was furious it was the second time in two days it had suffered through Seven's programming in favour of rugby.

"When the original draw came out it (the footy) was Sunday, August 19. The AFL rang and said Channel 7 had requested it be put on Saturday night because they want a bigger TV audience," Swann said.

"Now the AFL have informed us that there is a rugby game on and Channel 7 are going to show that and put us on at 9pm.

"They are going to write to Seven and say, 'Well, we are moving it to Saturday afternoon' and we absolutely support them in that.

"We moved it specifically to help Seven and now they are stuffing it around. And this comes days after we find out they are putting us on at 9pm out of Adelaide.

"So if the AFL requests it, we will be more than happy to play on a Saturday afternoon.

"Then if the game was a sellout and there were requests for it to be broadcast live we would have strong reservations about assisting the people that have pushed us into this corner and broken commitments."
