Flooding: Fine teams that offend?
I was thinking about this morning while listening to SEN. How about the AFL say to clubs, if you want to flood then we are going to fine the club.
Stagger the fines for first time offences etc. Something to thinm about anyway. I will try and go into more detail when I get back home from uni today.

I wrote to Mike Sheahan about a month ago suggesting fines. My reasoning was and is that the teams that flood repeatedly are bringing the game into disrepute. There would be some argument that flooding does more damage to the image of the game than a nice right hook that gets the crowd fired up.
At least a right hook shows some passion and in some weird kinda way is good to watch. Flooding sucks big time.... our first round game against the doggies was probably the worst game of football I've ever seen.... and almost had me not returning the following week...
At the end of the day it's the coaches who deliberately execute this style of game plan. Plus with the technology available these days every play could wear a tracker. Put in place a very simple rule regarding the number of players able to be in one half of the ground. The computer calculates the amount of time.... taking into account very temporary infringements and then fine the clubs.
Just a few thoughts....

Yeah, great idea, then make the players wear skirts, and bibs with GA, GD, C, etc, divide the ground into three sections, and change the name of the game to netball.Joel wrote:I was thinking about this morning while listening to SEN. Hey
Hey it would probably need some fine tuning.... the idea was that it wouldn't be over complicated..... hmmmm can you divide things by two Dale.... ?? It's tough I know.... but anyway......
It was just an idea..... but I guess some of us like watching football become rugby.....
