#12 Shannon Cox
Just on twelve months ago at Gosh's Paddock in a pre season game against the Kangaroos one player stood out as a kid with a bit of ability, young Shannon Cox from Sth Fremantle was showing all and sundry why he had been placed on the rookie list on this day he was amongst the goals, he was tough at the ball and had a bit of skill to boot.
During the game i sought out Neil Blame who wasnt standing that far away and enquired about this kid and his willingness to get the hard pill, Balme was a big wrap for this player and i was as well which is why im pleased to be following Shannon Cox's career during 2007.
Sometimes when you've been involved in footy for a long period of time you tend to see things that will propell a player to bigger things, and on may ocassions you can get vibes if a player is just wasteing everyones time, its my belief Shannon Cox will be the most talked about player at the pies during 2007, amidst the high profile the national draft generates these days it should be noted they come with no guarantees most will dissappear by the wayside if lucky it may produce a fifty gamer.
In this year to year process our second year player Shannon Cox who has been elevated to the senior list and largely forgotten about by the magpie faithfull is the player to watch, he has a an uncanny goal sense and at 95 Kgs has the weight to be a handy robust back line player...the kid even looks tough he even has a bit of that cocksure self arrogance which usually elevates an athlete onto greater things, standing at 190 cms he is the tradtional collingwood six footer.
Get ready folks the greatest thing at Magpie land has been under our snouts for some thirteen months!!
Its gonna be a pleasure bringing weekly updates on this bloke!!

Ready for some Cox
No it's not what you think....I swear....But by all reports Coxy dominated today. I was shattered when I didn't get to see him line-up against the Roos in the NAB Cup, but after yesterdays effort at Willy i'm starting to dream of Cox....I thought i'd never say that. Man.
Anyway does anyone else see him nabbing a spot in next friday's clash, maybe for Licca or Nicholls or someone who under performed at Subi. Here's hoping.

Danny has worked his arse off and has a fantastic work ethic. He will take this experience back to Willi and kill the VFL opposition across half forward with Deano and Hottie.Didcos435 wrote:You'd think Nicholls will make way. Hope it's not for too long though.
For a fourth round rookie pick he has done well to get this far so quickly, but he has his sights set very high and good on him too.

Agreed. He made some errors with head high tackles, but his intensity around the ball was very noticable. He was bobbing up and down everywhere.die4pies wrote:Danny has worked his arse off and has a fantastic work ethic. After what I saw today I would be surprised if he didn't play , very surprised.
It will be interesting who goes out if Lonie comes back as well.

Coxy is already in. He played a deadset blinder @ Willi yesterday and as he walked off I said to him "see you in the black and white next week Coxy". He couldnt help it but put on a cheesy grin and I also reckon Brad Dick is knocking on the door aswell!
