My most prized collection is my member badges. I am missing 6 from my set which starts at 1960 and would love to get hold of them.
They are; 1961, 1965, 1969, 1995, 1996 & 1997. I have doubles of a few and would be willing to swap these for the ones I'm after or pay whatever, don't have anything else to swap except for a Woewodin signed boot with MCG turf still attatched.
They are; 1984, 1985, 1987, 1991 & 1999.
Also after in any pre 1960.

Cheers

Do you mean the Social Club badges?

Let me know, and I'll have a look around at home, OK?

I'd be happy to just send some to you, if that's the case. I'll wait to hear.

Keep in mind that there were two types of badges issued in 1996.

Do you have more info on this.

My collection only stated in 1997 so I don't have either of the 1996 ones!!!!

I must check out the markets. I have found old medallions for sale for $20-25 dollars in the past.

Back at the start of 1996 the membership department had still not received the membership medallions from their supplier, as a result the club had to arrange to have another set of medallions made up at very short notice so that membership packages could be issued prior to the start of the season.

These 'emergency' medallions were of extremely poor quality and the club received many complaints about the quality of these medallions.

The club finally received its original order of medallions which were of higher quality i.e. finished in enamel.

The club apologised to all social club members about the quality of the orignal medallions and said that members could swap their original medallions for a new one or they could keep their original one. That's why you will find two types of 1996 social club medallions.

OK, I'll have a look around at home, I'm sure to come-up with something.

Were those duplicate medallions ^ from the year our medallions were done in navy, or was that another year?

The years I have doubles of are different too. One badge is mainly black with white the other is mainly white with black.

Not entirely correct here Makri.

The original 1996 Social Club Medallions were ready in time. They were not sent out to members because there was an error in the medallion.

EST 1882 was on the original medallion instead of EST 1892.

The cheapo second batch, made at short notice, actually looked blue instead of black hence all the complaints.

I swapped mine at the end of the year so I have the one with the error.
