Oh well. Cannot beat the Saints or the Cats just yet. Maybe we'll get them in the second round.

Prepare for the meltdown.

Time to dump the passengers. Luckily, premierships aren't won in May.

Still pretenders, I just cannot believe it. The second half was just as pathetic as the Prelim Final. Am I overreacting?

I think I just saw 22 gay footballers, someone call Hutchy.

Always hate losing, but in reality that's a step closer, and plenty learned. Some weak links were exposed, and we didn't quite believe we could win this.

Closer than the result, with more development and changes to come.

We aren't good enough yet, don't blame the umpires though. That's just crap!

Usual players don't like the heat.

Players like Davis, Didak etc don't have consistency to their game, been that way since they started their careers.

Lessons learned?

Cameron Wood is not a second ruck.
Dawes is not the answer, but may be the best we have for the moment.

Other than that - this was similar to the StKilda game. We were pretty good, but not enough polish going forward. The difference wasn't that our forwards were terrible - though Dawes was not good - it was, that our midfield wasn't running the ball close enough. Too many long, high balls, not enough precise low passes. Most of those marks to their talls were very simple, due to good midfield ball movement.

Disappointed with the end result. Didn't expect to win, but we had 7 scoring opportunities to start the last, and did not kick a goal. Some of those were very simple, and others were stuff ups when we had the numbers in space. Caff's kicking - worst in the team?

Still early days. Must bounce straight back next week.

Would have been 2 goals down with about 15 minutes to play had McAffer goaled.

cats kicked last 8 goals of the game while we kicked 2.12 in the second half. had chances.

need to be a bit tighter in defence, another pre season or two into sidebottom etc in the middle and better delivery to forwards - on the right track and competed for long periods.

much younger than cats (about 3 yrs i think someone said). positive signs but still too many passangers amongst the senior group. happy enough - didnt expect to win. 36pts about right

Worst part was watching us drop our heads after we didn't score a goal in the first 7 minutes of the last qtr. You could just see us give up. We lack so much belief in our ability to beat the best sides, so much so that I fear we never will.

Passenger city tonight. Caff back to the ressies, Leon to have a spell. Hope we don't come up against them in a final, they are head and shoulders better than us. A week's a loooooong time in footy.
