Some important things came together that game. The talls played well and kicked the majority of our goals, with Dawesy securing his spot and Leroy giving us the best second ruck performance in memory, helping Jolly play a top game. Up the other end, Presti played his best game for the year and Reid played another good one.

The kicking is enough to send a man insane, Dicky's shoulder is a worry, and we have to get Leon (and Medders) in form; but that aside good signs tonight.

Two lessons from this game.

Lesson 1: Keep Dawes in the team

fraser will have to play a few excellent games in vfl to come back into the side.

jolly is our #1 ruck and then wood #2. dare i say leroy is even ahead of fraser even in ruck.

leroy can play forward, back and in ruck. we need him in the side and give us 1 more big body player on the ground.

dawes and cloke work well with each other even thou cloke had a quiet night.

only low point, dick doing his shoulder again (the injured one). haven't heard anything bout it yet

Reid was great, Dawes good, and while Cloke didnt smash the scoreboard, he's looking very imposing and physically confident. Thought Tooves was bloody good too.

Best for me though: Ball. Damn he wants that footy when it hits the ground, what a gun.

Shame about Dick... particularly with Leon Davis in such vintage grand final form.

As expected, we won. Not much else to say about the game. One of our easier wins against the Swans, but should have been bigger - not for the missed goals necessarily (it wasn't a night of easy missed goals), but missed forward opportunities.

Never saw the Swans as a threat tonight. Tipped us to win by 28, but really thought it'd be bigger than that. A solid game, no more.
Well done boys!

Dickie's shoulder is a disaster - THE one reliable forward we have. THe swans can HAVE the farnarkling four points, I don't care. No point playing finals if we don't have our best forward in the side.

Leroy is a good utility for us... NOT A FF about time they woke up

Dawes was good, Reid is becoming something special... boy he has a cool head.

Ball was brilliant in close.

Didak showed he is all class

Great game from Jolly and boy he looks dangerous up forward.

Shaw another great game

Hard to believe the problem now might be our smalls around goal. Medders and Leon are hopelessly out of form (Medders already back in the VFL). It'll be very troubling for us if Dick's re-injured shoulder keeps him out.

Nothing spectacular but a very even team effort.

Darren Jolly was terrific tonight as a lone hand and Frasers days are surely now numbered.

Shaw was superb,Harry great,Tooves again did his job and I'd like to mention Goldy who stepped in for Maxy and didn't put a foot wrong.

Luke Ball is possibly one of our most vital players along side Swan,Pendles and Cloke and he again was fantastic.I love him.

Welllingham was better and Dawes and Brown were solid contributers.

I really like this line up and we need to give it time to settle for the remainder of the year.

The only down side obviously was Leons lack of form and maybe Dicky's dicky shoulder.

That aside a very pleasing performance. :D

Ball 9 clearances and 9 tackles according to the radio. Extremely valuable player.
