Will be intersting to see who replaces Dawes, IMO Wood has to be given the nod, did a decent job for us while Jolly was out, leave Leeroy Fwd IMO.

BJ to come back too.

it wouldn't do to underestimate North. Yep, they are a middling side at best, but they are on the way back up, they have beaten most of the sides below them, and they are very, very keen to knock off a side above them. They want to claim a genuine top-4 scalp so that they can pretend that they are actually a football team, and while they know that we are out of their league and their best chance wil be Carlton or West Coast on a bad day .... they have got nothing to lose and will come out full of piss and vinegar.

If we let them, North will rise to the challenge. Twice now they have drawn a line in the sand and said "we want to challenge a top-4 side, and Collingwood is our target". They have made themselves look stupid, over-ambitious, and incompetent .... in short, North reckon they deserve some retribution, and they will come flying out of the hutch spitting fire and lettuce.

We need to come out hard and crush their spirit early on; pile on the goals and frustrate their joourneys forward. If we crush 'em early, we can roll on home in comfort, just making sure we keep a foot firmly on the throat.

If we let them kick a few early on and start imagining that they are footballers in with a chance of knocking off the reigning premiers, we will have to beat them the hard way.

Why not do it the easy way?

Send these pretenders back to the bottom half of the table where they belong.

We'll play for 1 and a half quarters and win comfortably.

This is North's first and last appearance at the M.C.G. for the season. This will be our 9th of 14 (17 including finals) there.

Would hope for a scoreline similar to the Essendon v Gold Coast game, but the boys will probably just get 80 in front at half time and rest up for Carlton

No matter how well their formline is over recent weeks beating up on bottom sides, they are a bottom side themselves

Let's hope we can win comfortably and have no injuries and hopefully the youngsters such as Fasolo and Rounds get a chance to prove themselves.

The last time North beat us, Jack was FF, and the umpires literally bounced the ball into their hands from the centre gifting them goals.
Anybody remember that from 2008?

That was in rd 5 2008 when we let them come back after being 23pts up. But the last time we lost to them was rd 16 2008 when I was travelling in America.

  Sure do mate, i was at that game with my son, and i told him at around the 22 min mark, " we're home mate." Then the maggots gifted them goals, and i think Dids ran into an open goal, and missed a sitter, and we lost by around five points. I remember i sat there for a full fifteen minutes after the siren, like a stunned mullett, i was just shattered and in shock.
No probs this week tho, we will be 23 points up at third qtr, and win by around 49 easing up.

Keefe - IN.

COLLINGWOOD defender Alan Toovey believes young backman Lachlan Keeffe is ready to make his AFL debut if the Magpies' coaching staff decides to reshuffle the side in the wake of Chris Dawes' hand injury.

To be honest I've got my eye already on the following week's game against the scum.

Hopefully the players are more disciplined.

Personally we may as well get some good out of the Dawes injury and bring in Keeffe.

We need to see if he's ready for the step up to AFL and give him some valuable experience in the process before finals.

Though it isn't panic stations in regards to our forward setup without THE BEAST especially against a middle of the road side in north personally I'd bring in Keeffe, play him down back and move Tarrant forward.

Wouldn't be a bad move to give him some small bursts in the ruck as well to see how he goes.

It is interesting how quickly the make up of the Collingwood side has changed.

Between the time North last beat the 'Pies (a bit under 3 years ago) and last week, the Collingwood line-up had changed so that only 8 of the 22 players in that 2008 match were named in the team (Cloke, Maxwell, O'Brien, Pendlebury, H Shaw, Swan, Thomas and Wellingham).

Of the remaining 14, only 5 (N Brown, Didak, Goldsack, Johnson and Wood) are still on the list.
