Is there a Southern Tas equivalent???

Post by Stolly »

Desparately seeking Collingwood supporters in Southern Tas in preparation for next season. Am sick and tired of Essendon supporting boyfriend who only wants to talk about Jason Johnson and James Hird!!!!!!

Surely someone in Hobart has taste in football teams. Does anyone know if there is a Southern Tasmanian supporters group????

there used to be... they used to be based at the Good Woman Inn I'm pretty sure. I called them up a couple of years back and it sounded like they didn't have their shit together at all. I'm pretty sure they fell apart.

Maybe it's up and running again now... the big screen at the Cas is a pretty good place to find Collingwood fans.

Hey,

I'm from Southern Tasmania (Mornington/Warrane) it would be good to see a Southern Tasmanian Collingwood group, and I would really like to join (if it ever starts up again or whatever) I guess supporting Glenorchy is a same as Collingwood well not from 2000 to now, because we had to change to the Storm, and the colours and jumper sucked. So it's good the Mighty Glenorchy magpies are BACK!! sorry I went off topic there. I just wanted to know onething, at the Hobart Casino, there used to be a place to sign up to join the Collingwood Football Club, is it still there? My friends mother (Mrs Geeves, or was it Miss? Can't really remember the Mrs or Ms) but anyways, we signed up around 1994 fo that season and haven't been able to sign up since. I know about the one on the Collingwood website, but I wanted to know if Tasmania had a cheaper one because we can't see Collingwood games? If you could e-mail me at The_Unknown_Prototype@hotmail.com with any info, it would really help. if not that's okay.

If anyone finds anything good going on - count me in. We need a Southern Tassie Collingwood supporters club!
There are so many site rules and regulations I no longer know what I can and can't put in this signature.

Hi there...

I would be prepared to get involved in a Southern Tassie supporters club! If we rally up enough members it would be a blast.

To become an official Collingwood supporters club you need:
1. At least 20 members
2. And have an elected committee that includes a President, Secretary and Treasurer.

So far it looks like there are a few people interested in starting one up; Stolly, Mortis, mizuno, Zieke, and maybe tassiepie might be interested again.

Once affiliated each supporter group receives a fundraising kit, which includes a Collingwood Guernsey and a team poster signed by the Collingwood squad. The club also provides key rings and key ring inserts to be given to members at the start of each season. Club posters, stickers and other promotional giveaways will be available on request during the season.

The best person to contact is Bree Hitches who is responsible for the Supporters Groups' at Collingwood ph: (03) 8412 0000.

The club would also be able to send a flyer to all the Collingwood members living in Southern Tasmania promoting the supporters club... Collingwood has recently sent a flyer to all the Collingwood members living in Sydney letting them know about the Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club... we have picked up a lot of new members this way.

I can e-mail whoever else is interested the full 'Guidelines for all Collingwood Country and Interstate Supporter Groups in 2005' document. PM me if you're interested.

Good luck guys!!! If you need any help don't hesitate to ask any of the the other supporter groups around Australia :)

just send the application form to the address supplied on the form.if we continue to recieve memberships from the hobart area in the numbers we are getting at the moment we will be looking at coming down to hobart to watch a game at a venue which will need to be found with all of the southern pies supporters.if you can sound out a venue can you email me at buckly_2000@yahoo.com so we can get the ball rolling.its only fair that all southern supporters be looked after as they have joined the northern group and would be good to meet all the pies supporters in the south.i will talk to the club maybe able to raffle a 2005 signed jumper on the day.it will need to be a saturday game as well then we are guaranteed to be on tv.
