No because they just drafted Travis Cloke and Jarrod Roughhead clones.

No wonder they traded us a gun midfielder - they plan to line up every week with 18 KPPs and four more on the bench.
I reckon they must be punting that they will have spare gun KPPs in a few years time when they are winning premierships and they'll be able to trade them to other clubs for top 10 draft picks. If so, it's smart thinking.

The trick is getting game time into them i think to develop them to increase their value. Perhaps they will turn them into an uber spine.

How the fk do you get game time into a kid who's a KPF when you already have 3 of the best forward prospects in the league? I feel sorry for the kid.

Agree that this seems a strange decision given their stock of talls.

Not all forwards have to play forward. McCarthy is a skinny kid with a good tank, like Reid he doesn't need to be locked into a forward or a back role, he could probably play either.

Someone's gonna have to play CHB if they all want to get a game...
As I've said before, they're stockpiling some talls, in preparation to trade one or two out for a nice fat bounty at some point down the line...

I for one think GWS is doing it right.
Despite what the propaganda machine says, the vast majority of the kids drafted tonight will be average or worse AFL footballers and only a few will be genuine difference makers for their teams.
Keeping that in mind, I'd say the distinction between drafting a kid who can play and drafting one who can't is much more meaningful than the distinction between tall and small.
Draft the best player available. Worry about what to do with him later. If he can play but doesn't fit into your team, then trade him for someone who does.
