Hawks annihilate Brisbane
Hawthorn won their NAB Challenge match against the Lions by 131 points!
I know it's only a practice match, but the premiers look very very serious about this season. On the other hand Leppitsch might be the first coach sacked. Is it possible to sack a coach after two practice matches before the regular season starts?

No one could look as distraught as Neeld , the poor bugger looked like a depressed member of the Proclaimers towards the end. Then again it would be good to see Leppa in barney rubble i couldn't stand him when he was playing!Defender wrote:Practice match or not a 130 hammering isn't ideal, leppa could be Neeld mkII.

Close losses is Richmond talk.collie dog wrote:Really good point.GoWoodsmen wrote:The only good thing about that is that the Hawks would have gotten ZERO out of that. Compare that with what we got out of last nights close loss. I'll take our game any day at this stage of the season.

No it's called living in total reality. We can all have delusional unrealistic expectations of winning every single game we play in. Every one. I have some bad news for you, this will not happen! Among all the wins, there will be big, medium and close losses just as the sun will come up tomorrow.
A very close loss in a practice game at the oppostion club's home ground without a few of our guns playing? Shoot me dead in the head but I'd take that any day at this point of a very long season............
Richmond regularly eat their own. Fortunately only a few of our fans do that.

The Cats came out strong and physical with just a few of their top 22 missing. As the Pies had 5 first gamers and three new recruits playing for us on the night I initially though we were going to get smashed.ANNODAM wrote:I'd rather the win thanks!
The Cats may have won but I would suspect that they would be very concerned with the result.
From my perspective I felt the boys did well with the only real negatives of the night being the injuries to Freeman & Young.
