Wish I was there tonight but so proud of that effort! Our best players in Pendles, Swan and Beams all delivered. Macaffer was instrumental in stopping Cotchin.

Bring on North Melbourne!

Swan getting better.

Elliot becoming a very effective player.

Worst umpriring effort of the year. 21-14 to Richmond. Umpires seem to let it flow when Collingwood has the ball, then blow the whistle as soon as Richmond get it back.

Some great goals from Jesse White as well.

Still need to play four full quarters of footy though but getting better.

As I said in the game thread, Cloke second week in a row as the worst Collingwood player for disposal efficiency.

Ha... and Bruce just mentioned we had a difficult draw.

Beams, Pendles, Swanny, Ball all good tonight. I said earlier in the week if our mids stood up we would smash them and we did!

Impressed with White, Elliott had another good game, Caff did a number on Cotchin.

Lots of skill errors, but pies were far cleaner in greasy conditions. Only disappointing part was the last qtr. Foot went off the gas a little which was unfortunate, but at least we kicked the last couple.

Swanny is back baby!!!

Won the game when it mattered, played better in the first 3 quarters to put the game beyond doubt. Interesting umpiring to say the least - when you flog a side like we did for most of the game they tend to get a bit dirty, the opposition, and tonight they got away with it. Cotchin = protected species, McCaffer very good. Pendlebury and Swan switched nicely after half time (resting up forward) but Swannie couldn't run it out. A lot of guys will be better for the run. No obvious injuries for the first time in a while.

We should take a lot of positives into next week and hopefully we can keep improving and running and working for each other. If we can take down North and the dons, we'll smash Carlton and go into the bye 5 and 2. Then get Reid, Dwyer, Seedsman, Sinclair, Freeman and Adams available for selection after the bye and with a much easier draw, we can really set up our season.

GO PIES!!

A fine win, and a good opportunity to ease up in the fourth quarter, ready to start well next week. Good contributions from most of the boys, but the most pleasing was White. They can double-team Cloke, but White provides the same kind of target and with Elliott, this forward line represents a big problem for the opposition.

I thought our cleanliness by foot was vastly improved tonight as the early conditions improved, which was also promising. Hard to know how good this team might be when we get Reid (himself a matchwinner at CHF), plus Brown and Sinclair back, and when Freeman, Scharenberg and Broomhead come on as well.

Very pleased with the win, but we should have finished them off. I thought Young was important.
