Watched part of the Melbourne v Ade game.

Great to see Dawes clunking contested marks, kicking goals and imposing himself physically and showing great leadership.

Jason Dunstall rated that as his best game ever. Not sure if he played any better at the Pies but really wrapped for him after his injury ravaged year last year.

Keep it going Dawesy ( except against us).

He played some very good games as a Pie, but after a couple of seasons of injury, lack of confidence and poor form it was good to see the guy go out and make a statement with just pure effort.

I picked the guy had Captain written all over him before he played a senior game for the Pies. He is just a leader. Great stuff, well done and kindly have a day off against the Pies.

Sad to see him go, i thought he was terrific. Happy to see him get some form back and do something at Melbourne. I hate to see them flogged year after year. Happy to see CARLSCUM flogged year after year though.

Yes he played well, but calling him Christ is a tad over the top.

On last nights talking footy wayne carey said that he is inspiring the kids at the D's by saying - i know how to play winning football, i was in a premiership team, just follow me and we can win some games.

Back to the Dawes of old tonight, dropping chest marks and seemingly playing the decoy role for Melbourne...

I suppose the next step for Dawes is playing consistently good football and such. Always seemed to me that once he got that hand injury things really changed for Dawes, at least his final season at Collingwood. Might still be a bit of a mental thing with him, hopefully he bounces back.

He played really well again today. And it was a good day for the Brighton Grammar boys. This was Jack Watts' best game by a long way against Richmond.

Should we have stuck with Dawes and given Melbourne Cloke? :P
