my observations of the pies

Post by rooka »

Just wondered if anyone else had simular ideas about our team.

1. To get the best out of either Rocca , both must be on the field at the same time as they seem to gain confidence from each others actions.

2. Tony Shaw had one positive coaching practice , he gave the younger guys a few senior games in a row to see how they adapted.
MM for mine is to quick to send the boys back to the reserves after limited time in one match.

3. Our recruiters need to add some height and expreince to our backline. MM teams are usually very strong in this area and we seem to be one tall short.

4. We must stop trading players with Richmond , Matthew Pavlich at selection three would have been better now and in the future than Steven McKee. Perhaps Danny Roach will develope and I will feel better about this trade as I liked the way Clinton King had a real go.

5. Gavin Crossisca must have really pissed someone off over summer as we kept him but he looks unlikley to get anything more than a good-bye game (if he is lucky).

6. Can Josh Fraser be the first number one draftee who really is as good as the hype that surrounded him.

I agree with you on most of your points rooka.

1) The Rocca bros do play good fooy when they are both in the side, but not when they are both playing at the sasme ent of the ground ie forward. Friday night's game was a good example of how well the came both play because Sav was mainly at full forward and Anthony was playing in the center when he could either go forward to kick goals or go to the back line to to defend.

2)MM went for a young side but he isn't giving them enough game time to actually be able to prove themselves. If they have a bad game, you can bet they will be back in the ressies the following week!

3) I disagree with you about the back line. It's not that there are not enough tall players, it's just that there is not enough experience. That's where Crosisca would come in handy. He is one of the best ever back liners that Collinwood has had. If he was playing, the other defenders would be able to learn something from him.

4)I'm not going to comment about the selectors!!!!

5) Gavin Crosisca SHOULD be in the side, no questions asked!!! BUT since MM is opting for a youthful team, it seems bloody unlikely that he will get a game this season.

6)Can Josh Fraser be the first number one draftee who really is as good as the hype that surrounded him? Well, we will just have to wait and see. But, he is have a reasonable season so far.
