Disposal and AF points are proven worthless today

Swan, Blair and Ball - all had no impact at all. The most worthless 68 possessions ever recorded.

A disappointing result. I didn't expect to win but we should have done better.

We've conceded 20, 21, 20, 18 & 17 goals against Hawthorn in the last 5 games. It's a similar result to last years R21 result when we lost 119 to 84. This year 115-86.

We haven't closed the gap...yet...we can go with them for parts of the game but not all. :(

Good performance. A loss, yes, but we couldn't have expected much more with who we had missing. That's our best performance against the Hawks in quite a while, only going down by 29 and keeping them to under 20 goals.

Winning the ruck contest and the clearances was a big part of why we came close. The Witts/White combo worked well, but White faded out of the game towards the end. Witts with two goals and easily beating Ceglar in the ruck was pretty good.

Well done to Adams. He was smart today in deciding to kick rarely, 9 kicks and 16 disposals. Was again just about our best contested ball player and picked up 6 clearances. This kid is definitely a player, and those who think he's a spud know nothing.

Ball was also good today, but the third of the inside mids, Thomas, had a shocker. Very likely to be back to the VFL next week with Sidey returning.

Cloke was excellent for the second week in a row. Kicking 5 against the Hawks is a tough ask. Great stuff.

Pendles was far and away our best player for the game.
Well done boys!

We have a lot of young players who held up pretty well for most of the game despite being without a concussed defender. But for a momentum changing decision and perhaps more accurate shots on goal when the momentum was with the pies, the result may have been different. If nothing else lots to be learnt from the experience for our youngsters and a great future ahead. We are clearly not quite there yet. I am proud though of the endeavour shown today for most of the game. As for Swan, remember he had surgery in the preseason and is also only couple of weeks back from injury. Hopefully an upside coming from him when he is fully fit. Cloke seems to have found form. Sidebottom, Maxwell and Reid may have made an impact. Who knows, if we ever get the best team out there on the park for a few weeks might just give the comp a red hot go.

Season Over

Not sure where we go from here to become a Premiership contender to be honest, it's gonna take until 2016/17 at least

Witts looked like he was going to cry at one point
We just got nutted at the clearances...

I thought the boys battled well today considering our outs, turning point was the ridiculous throw paid against Pendles when we really had our tails up in the 3rd, mind boggling decision, that cost us a goal, possiblya 2 goal turnaround as we were heading into 50.

Swan was pretty good, but nothing near his best. Still was doing alright getting it inside 50 and was working his butt off to get around the ground. I think he's injured.

Outclassed, beaten, battered but not disgraced today. Hawthorn are a better side and we're missing too many. Plenty back next week and we'll all feel much better after handing the Scum a towelling.

We were able to improve in clearances compared.to.previous losses against hawks because Mitchell didn't play. There's the difference.

Witts finished well when the hawks had already started their stretches but ceglar was better when it mattered. but even Hal knows that.but alas, an encouraging effort by witts with minimal support, coz.lets face it, we have no one else.

A really disappointing day against an.undermanned and under performing hawks.

Will be lucky to make the finals from here.

I am now officially in the camp that Blair is not in our best team. He doesn't do enough consistently week in week out. Of course I am not sure who comes in for him.

And whilst Balls first qtr was very solid he faded quickly to nothing. I am more of the belief that this is his last year. The end comes quickly. Darren Jolly is one of many examples of this.

Don't agree about Swan. His role will change. He won't be the centre player he was and will spend more time down forward. He still has the smarts and physical capabilities to do this.
