Ryan Schoenmakers

With Frawley off to the Hawks, Schoenmakers will definitely be attainable now. When he played this year he was used as a bit of a swing man, and looked good when played forward. 195cm 95kg. Could be our answer for that 2nd/3rd tall, with the added advantage of being able to switch to defence for better match ups or if one of our defenders go down. Not as good as Reidy, but having 3 swing men in Reid, Goldsack and Schoenmakers in your line up has to be pretty handy.

Well, except that he has said to the media since the Frawley announcement that he intends to stay at the Hawks and fight for his place. He's quite young and Gibson and Lake are both the wrong side of 30, so you'd think the Hawks would be loathe to part with him.

Trav would be happy, he would kick a bag in the intra club games.

Pass.

I suggest they'd want a 2nd round pick, however our priority must be the midfield as we also have Moore, Scharenberg & Keefe that are potential swing men over the next 12-24 months.

In regards to swing men I believe that we should look at White as a key defender, he is strong, quick & athletic. He can't do any worse, can he?

Absolute spud of a footballer.

Has horrible decision making at the best of times and isn't a better man-on-man defender than any of Frost, Brown, Reid or Keefe.

Hopefully he ends up in the VFL where he belongs.

Exactly!

Although- he deserves some reward for getting us into 2011 GF.

He is the new Kepler Bradley- our best player each time we play against him

Don't think there's much chance of this.

I don't think he'd be in our best 22.

I thought he goes alright up forward, with us not getting Mitch Clark are we going to try and play Reid up forward again? Need another key TF in my opinion.

Got obliterated in the VFL grand final against the Dogs seconds. In fairness, its always a long season when you are off an ACL but not for me off the back of that form.

"1:12pm: Wright has also added:

....

- Despite Frawley's signature, key defender Ryan Schoenmakers was committed to staying at the club. Schoenmakers is contracted for 2015. Wright said that there had "not really" been any interest in Schoenmalkers from other clubs, nor had clubs fielded offers for fringe ruckman Luke Lowden."
