Cup tips.
Surely we can leave this thread on the main board for a while mods?
I like Junoob and Araldo, might feature each in my multiples.
My take on the race is Falkner won't beat Admire Ratki home, Falkner had the run of the race in the Cox plate and Admire Ratki was 3 wide with a bit of cover and had to come very wide in the caulfied cup, and Faulker was under siege in the Cox plate, but I'm tipping Junoob and Araldo (with luck) to put in big runs at odds, I don't like Signpost on the quick backup, and he's tended to run in when coming wide in his recent runs, he luckily found the rail on Saturday but he won't find it in the cup from barrier 16, I'd seriously put a line through him.
Admire Ratki with his prime draw will take some beating and he'll be suited to the big track.

Can't see lucia turning the tables on Ratki, she had his back in the Caulfield and didn't make any impression.ronrat wrote:I like the baby girl Lucia Valentina and Admire Rakti to run second. third between Red Cadeaux, Lidari, Mutual respect,Araldo and Signoff. I think Ratki will win, but it's the cup lol, need some value.

Just giving you my opinion, but I'd put a line through Lidari firstly, isn't bred for the trip and it's been proven, and Signoff with a wide barrier will have to go back and come wide and he has an aweful habit of ducking in, don't quote me on those opinions though lol, Signoff does have a light weight but he's on the quick back up, there's a lot not to like if ya get my drift.ronrat wrote:I like the baby girl Lucia Valentina and Admire Rakti to run second. third between Red Cadeaux, Lidari, Mutual respect,Araldo and Signoff. Bart Cummings would disagree with your quick back up but then you would know more about it than him. This cup has more old timers than the RSL at Hervey Bay. It is a different race than normal and it could well come down to a sprint home. If that happens you need young legs. Signoff reminds me a lot of Brew but then he only won it. As for coming from the back. Kiwi says hello. If the Caulfield Cup form is bogus then you are left with Signoff or Red Cadeux.Defender wrote:Just giving you my opinion, but I'd put a line through Lidari firstly, isn't bred for the trip and it's been proven, and Signoff with a wide barrier will have to go back and come wide and he has an aweful habit of ducking in, don't quote me on those opinions though lol, Signoff does have a light weight but he's on the quick back up, there's a lot not to like if ya get my drift.ronrat wrote:I like the baby girl Lucia Valentina and Admire Rakti to run second. third between Red Cadeaux, Lidari, Mutual respect,Araldo and Signoff. Too far away to know, but the Melbourne Cup's the only race i've made money on over the years (and I'm well behind overall). The only thing that i know works, on average, is to choose a horse proven at the distance, or with bloodlines proven at the distance. There are very few races over 2400, and most can't get the trip over 32.
Two more flags before I die!

I don't really punt much and it shows.
Put $10 on Dagney in the first and it came in 3rd. Only backed it to win.
Put $10 on sea spray to place in the 6th and saluted with a second.
Got $10 eacj way on Fawkner and $20 to place on Admire Rakti
