Silk Selections at the draft!

Please Dekka don't get seduced by hard nut, in and under, competitively inclined 180cm players at the draft. Our simple criteria as stated previously is height (188cm+) but those with silky kicking skills. Am sure I am not on an island here when I say that our field kicking was an "abomination" in the second half of the season.
Missing targets, missing goals or hitting up our forwards at their ankles was bordering on disgusting. So let's get some "polish" into the side and I don't mean the Warsaw kind Hal!!

What makes you so certain? I am surprised to hear that you are not on an island here when he or she say that our field kicking was an abomination in the second half of the season.

Wasn't just the second half of the season, I've never seen a side with such poor foot skills at AFL level.

agreed. It was almost laughable if it wasn't so painful to see.

I still can't believe that nobody was picking this stuff up when we were 8-3 and steamrolling towards finals as we turned at the break.

I know, seems obvious in hindsight that if you lose half your side to injuries and play kids eventually they make mistakes.
Why didn't the cognoscenti point this out then?

It maybe didn't help a lot when many of our 'best lace out at full pressure' premiership stars didn't fit into the changed new culture
or was it we couldn't afford them ?
or both?

Apart from Heater, who regularly kicked the ball out of bounds on the full, who are you referring to? Daisy perhaps?....He now struggles to kick more than 40 metres.

Getting tall running players with great foot-skills requires low draft picks.

For once I agree with you mate, our kicking skills aren't too flash, compared to say, the Hawks, as my bro says "We seem to kick it in circles, hoping for the best " Kicking is a great skill of our game, difficult to teach and adopt well, we really do need some great kicking new recruits
