Brisbane have the ticket and right to a home Grand Final all locked up, so the only question is, who will finish second? And can Collingwood do it?
The scenario, as outlined by BigFooty AFLW expert poster barrackers...
As the outside of outside chances we're going to need to combine the defensive effort of the bulldogs game with our best attacking game and also take every opportunity at goal if we're to be any chance of booking a ticket to Brisbane to face the Lions at Gabba in the grand final. It's all but impossible, however we're technically still a chance albeit we're going to need to play out of our skin and have other results go our way.
The race for second:
- Adelaide win and they finish 2nd; should Adelaide and Melbourne both lose Carlton and us both require significant boosts to the percent to jump them
- Melbourne win and hope Adelaide lose. There's a slim chance they could get in with an Adelaide win, however that would required Melbourne thumping Freo and Adelaide winning by the barest of margins
- Carlton win against Brisbane and hope Adelaide and Melbourne lose. Would need to a big win and big Adelaide lose
- Collingwood we need Melbourne to lose and for us to defeat Adelaide. A victory by us of 49 points is required to overtake Adelaide's percentage. This however would place us just 1-2 percent above Carlton, so ideally a Carlton lose would be nice too otherwise we're reliant upon a Carlton victory by around 1 goal give or take depending on the scorelines of both matches.
