Happy (Jewish) New Year
None of this 2017 stuff thank you very much!
The year 5778 & Collingwood has won a few premierships. Bucks is still coaching
Happy New Year.
Go to Mum's eat too much, with immediate family. Tuck into a hot bowl of cholesterol sorry chicken soup with kreplach or real egg noodles, tnree of chopped cholesterol sorry liver pate, fish, salads etc apple, main courses galore, salads & veg, too many deserts, honey cake & tea coffee.
When we were little we'd go the the synagogue as a family. Hasn't been done for many a year these days but is a family get together
Goes for two nights although in Israel it is for one night.

Happy Rosh Hashanah to you too, WPT.
PM, aren't you getting them mixed up? The Day of Atonement is Yom Kippur, I think, which is next week. I should know; 24 hours of fasting as a teenager wasn't much of a holiday.

You love the sense of ancient ritual and meaning in Judaism. What do you like about the sense of ancient ritual and meaning in Judaism so much? Don't worry about it, like a sacrificial offering to assuage the British entertainment industry's collective guilt and shame for turning a blind eye to or condoning such behaviour on a widespread basis for the past half-century.

These days it's being with family (a bit like Christmas - which will be at our place this year) - you know mixed marriages: my wife's an Essendon supporter. We still say the besssings before the meal & translate it (this year for my youngests boyfriend)
