Yeah, I've been looking at stuff about it.

This link identifies the gunman who live streamed the attack on Twitter, and shows some of the footage in the lead up.

Interestingly, NZ gun laws are a lot less strict than ours. You can legally purchase semi automatic rifles, provided the magazine size is limited (something easily overcome) and while you need a gun license there is no registration of weapons.

The shooter seems to be claiming he did this in response to Muslim violence and their "occupation" of what were "white" lands. :?

Hearing that he came back into the mosque looking for survivors is just so awful. I don't know how many people were there, but you'd be expecting casualties in double figures at least.

The Bangladeshi cricket team was not going to the nor had been to the mosque. They were walking from their hotel to the cricket ground. The mosque was nearby.

The perpetrator who live streamed his attack is stated to be Australian born.

Another mosque however has reportedly been attacked and this seemingly may have been carried out by another shooter.

Its certainly hit the news. Flicking through it live reports on Russian tv, Asia (singapore based ) news, British, French, German and even Fox. Al Jazeera has picked it up. Although I suspect Fox will have some piece about people not being armed so they can respond.
