MY THOUGHTS:
The brilliant news is round 3 sees our first game at Victoria Park for 2019.

The bad is that last week was very much a week to forget against Footscray. Really we couldn't have played much worse and it was only good fortune that the margin wasn't significantly more. In their first match for the year Northern Blues prevailed by 1 point at Geelong in R2 against an inaccurate cats side (9.13 67 to 10.8 68 ).

While I'd love to see a repeat of our 201 cricket score I expect we'll see something that more closely resembles the more dour second encounter of 2018. In that second encounter we attacked strongly in the last quarter in an attempt to snatch the lead however ultimately the height of the blues proved too much as they flooded back in number (10.12 72 to 11.10 76).

I hope to see Wellings and Gallucci are amongst our inclusions this week, both would add pace and make our forward line more dangerous. Without any coverage it's unknown what that likelihood is though. While for the blues after 2 weeks and 2 goals at senior level Fasolo spent last week back in the VFL where he was goalless. As well as Carlton are travelling it shouldn't be enough to earn a recall, but stranger selections have happened. With Carlton playing on the Sunday one advantage we have over the blues is that we won't require an emergency carryover this week. The flip side is there's only 4 days between this match and ANZAC day, will we manage the game time of a few in contention?

Final Collingwood team sees Gallucci, Tardrew, Lane and Chippendale miss from yesterday's extended squad. Wellings, Tohill and Ralph are the inclusions for Chippendale, Madgen and T. Brown who all finished the 'dogs game on the bench.

Chippendale had been our second ruck this year, I suspect one of the Irish lads will fill that role (can't remember which did in the preseason).

Matthew Kreuzer, Cameron Polson, Jack Silvagni named in the senior 22. Their AFL emergencies are confirmed as:

*Levi Casboult,
*Matthew Lobbe,
*Matthew Kennedy,
*Angus Schumacher

At least one will be held over with the rest likely VFL starters.

Did the pies sack the VFL content guy from their site, where do the weekly team sheets appear? I can't even find a list of the vfl players this year
