Luke McDonald Coronavirus sledge

As McKenna came towards him McDonald covered his mouth and nose and turned his face away, appearing to mock the fact the Irishman recently tested positive for coronavirus.
The article says former AFL greats Brendon Goddard and Kane Cornes slam McDonald’s ‘embarrassing’ act. And a few others on social media are upset at the gesture.

This reminds me of the Sam Mitchell sledge, where he pretended to shoot up in a heated exchange with an Essendon player.

Is this an overreaction or does McDonald need to apologise?

Nothing will be done but if it was a collingwood player the book would be thrown and they would have been rubbed out for a couple of matches.

I think it is all an overreaction. It was just friendly banter between two opposing players, there was no malice in it.

Overreaction.

The football media are just searching for any story to find outrage about.
