Gee whizz.

Completely worth the risk.

Age: 26.
198cm FF/Ruck.
89 AFL Games.

Had breakout years in 2016 and 2017. If he can return to that its a big win. But three knee-recos, sheesh.

Yep, some clubs can afford to take those risks. :(

As someone else said this is a salary dump from GWS. Hawthorn give bugger all in the trade because they take his full salary, or close to it.

So the Dorks get Patton for next to nothing. A big, lead up full forward and former top ten pick. Hope we had a crack at this bloke. Even after the knee misfortune he could turn out to be an absolute steal.

Not interested, we have enough injury prone players already and no cap space for a $600k per year player.

It's his wage that was the issue.

Hawks taking it all on, hence the shitty 4th rounder in return.

yeah as others have said the $$$ were the issue we have no room for more players.

Sadly, we live in a time where players for the most part are chasing more money then success. It is what, it is. Football is the entertainment business these days, the performers want more.

Our tight as a fish,s ar-#*e salary cap would be that highlighted that managers would steer their players away from us

Greater Western Sydney receives a future fourth-round selection

even if it is related to money...GWS would of wanted a higher trade for this...thats insanely cheap for the type of player..

Plus a well established strength and conditioning department in a big club like the dawks will definitely help...

Patton Injured Again

If you can believe it.

Nothing has been confirmed as the game is still going, but it didnt look good.

As I'm typing this, Jon Ralph seems to think it isnt an ankle but possibly a calf.

After zero games in 2019, he switched to Hawthorn and played the first 3 rounds in 2020. Then he missed rounds 4 and 5 and returned to play against Collingwood in round 6. In that game he got injured again and it looked bad as he was in tears in the bench. That turned out to be a hamstring strain. And now today, in his comeback game, he is injured again early in the first quarter.

He has torn his left ACL twice and his right ACL once. Now he seems to be suffering the soft tissue injuries.

You gotta feel bad for the guy. Today was his 95th AFL game, but he is signed on for 2 more years.

I wonder how the family club will deal with this idiot:

Hawthorn are masters at this. I imagine they'll counsel the young man and tell him to stick it out for a little while longer, until the heat subsides.
