Quite a thoughtful essay:
"...In the face of the pandemic, Scott Morrison has failed to adjust his thinking, and wants to return to the way things used to be.."
It's a thoughtful essay I can't read without giving them my email address, which they're nor getting. So lets test your little claim about political leanings here https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/
The Herald Sun is rated Right Centre
RIGHT-CENTER BIAS
These media sources are slightly to moderately conservative in bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor conservative causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation.
So, to the Herald Sun:
Overall, we rate The Herald-Sun Right-Center biased based on story selection and editorial positions that favor the right. We also rate them Mostly Factual in reporting rather than High due to questionable positions regarding the consensus of science.
Channel 9?
Factual Reporting: HIGH
Notes: Nine News is the national news service of the Nine Network in Australia. 9 News leans slightly right in reporting bias and tends to favor conservative candidates. Their news is typically well sourced and factual.
Just for comparison, lets look at The Guardian.
Overall, we rate The Guardian Left-Center biased based on story selection that moderately favors the left and Mixed for factual reporting due to numerous failed fact checks over the last 5 years.
So not only are the Herald Sun and 9 News NOT anywhere near extreme right wing, they are both more trusted to provide factual news than The Guardian
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Dear me. Stui, do u check ur sources? Fact check the alleged fact checker. The first paragraph in wiki says: media bias fact check is amateur. Later it says itâs methodology is wholly unscientific. Whoâd a thunk.
Needs more work.
Please resubmit.
Now 9 news & Murdoch have become so far right wing they make channel 7 seem balanced. No wait that was going to far: theyâre just as bad. Goodness gracious me.

And Wiki is totally professional.
Here's their methodology which they agree on their site is not scientific, but they use the same method on each so it is at least an objective unbiased assessment, unlike yours.
So, a bloke sets himself up as a "media bias analyst" and in 2015 starts a website - next thing, everyone is referring to the site as if it has some verifiable authenticity or merit.
I'm not interested in the underlying discussion about whether this is Andrews' fault or Morrison's (the debate is arid because the issues are, with respect, somewhat more complex than that) - but that, right there, is the whole problem with the internet.
One problem with analyses of purported "media bias" is that they tend to rely heavily upon an assumption that there is some necessary thing called "being even-handed". That is, of course, a complete fallacy - some political positions are fundamentally stupid and do not warrant air-time. So, eg, just because some liar in a public office wants to label Biden as a "socialist" doesn't make that a topic worthy of "even-handed" pubic debate. No matter how often it is said, it remains risible. Any media oganisation that deals with such a proposition in an allegedly "even-handed" way is part of the problem, not part of the solution.
It is precisely that sort of analysis that has led to the resurgence of right-nutter views in mainstream politics. If the media did the right thing and just ignored the idiots - instead of "reporting" what they say and then getting 30 seconds from each "side" as to why a risible proposition is stupid/is the basis for a new world order, we'd all be better off.

BTW, I don't think I've ever watched 9 News. If you think it's so biased why do you watch it? If you don't watch it, how can you say it's biased?
Get with the times Stui: 9 media owns 3AW, The Age etc (the age has for years become right wing) etc. They hosted a notorious fund raiser for the Liberal Party last year

Thatâs Jon Faine, Victorian Government employee...
Interestingly enough he also in the same article says businesses will go under, but they do every year so itâs not a problem...?
Sorry, has Jon Faine got a new job since he retired from the ABC? (You said a Victorian Government employee) ?
With respect to his comments about businesses going under youâve distorted what he said. He never said itâs not a problem, no one has said that or would believe that unless theyâve trying for some cheap opportunism.

Yes, running the Governments media campaigns so therefore any article he writes defending Dan should really have a disclaimer down the bottom:

Sorry Eddie, it's not that I don't trust you but would you be so kind as to provide the link to show that Jon Faine is running the Andrews Government media campaign. I just can't seem to find it.
Cheers
