A good pick up

From an AFL website:
"Finlay Macrae

Macrae shares some similar attributes to his older brother, Western Bulldogs premiership midfielder and Virgin Australia All-Australian Jack.
Wherever the ball is, he's usually pretty close. He averaged 17 disposals in seven games for the Chargers last year, including 22 and two goals in the preliminary final against Sandringham.
Macrae is an excellent kick on both feet and calm under pressure".

Welcome aboard Fin. There are a few spots available in the on ball brigade so get stuck in over summer and make one of them you're own.

I understand he has the distinct advantage of not only being able to kick well with both feet but atypically for a Collingwood player, kick it to a player on the same team wearing the same club jumper.

A radical approach I'll grant you, but this is 2020

So he can do what some who have left the club recently could not.

Was telling that Richmond traded their pick out which was after ours as soon as we took him.
Really would not have looked out of place picked between 10 - 15.

I’m sold. Football brain, both sides of body, makes others look better, gut runs for second and third possession, always passes to advantage, never tried to do too much. Once he puts on some size...could be anything.

Last week we had little to get excited about even the junk time goals. But did anybody see the 40 metre left foot pass inboard to a leading Thomas in last quarter. Yes Thommo missed of course but hopefully it was a sign of things to look forward to.

Yep, it was a great pass. Has a very similar kicking technique to his brother.
I was encouraged by his performances earlier in the year. The talent is evident, but he just needs to build his tank.
Remember watching him against the Suns looking physically knackered by the end of the game.
