Some VFL coverage will be on Kayo

Post by Pies4shaw »

Details to come "later this week":
A large majority of the VFL fixture will lead-up to AFL blockbusters across the road at the MCG, with fans able to tune into some matches through a new Kayo deal which will see four games each week streamed on the platform. More details around this will come to hand this week.

More details have been released...
VFL matches will head into primetime in 2021 with the announcement of the new broadcast deal for the revamped east coast state league, which begins on April 16.

Fox Footy will broadcast at least two matches each round for free, via the Kayo Freebies program on the Kayo streaming service.

Plus on weeks without Thursday night footy at AFL level, Fox Footy will air a VFL match live and go all-out with coverage and analysis of the primetime game.

Kayo will broadcast three matches in each of the first two rounds to begin the season, and VFL Finals matches will be broadcast on both Foxtel and Kayo.

Live streaming of games not covered by Foxtel, Kayo or Seven will be organised by the AFL and the clubs involved.

^ Thanks Jezza.

The Collingwood game this week isn't one of the the Kayo matches - but for those who want to see what opposition teams have coming through in the way of talent, the games in round 1 are Sydney v GWS and Brisbane v Essendon (both live today from 12 pm, apparently) and Geelong v North at 1 pm tomorrow.

Box Hill v Casey will be on live FTA tomorrow afternoon. Apparently, Ch 7 or 7Mate will show a VFL game on Sunday afternoons each week (though presumably not while the Anzac Day game is on at the 'G.
