Front loading washing machines

Post by watt price tully »

Our front loader died after only 8 years: a Bosch. The best one I had was from years ago was a Pacific by Gorenje made in the former Yugoslavia ( lasted 16 years)

My budget is about $1,000 to $1,200 (on after pay)

What do have and do you like it? I’m looking for recommendations from people’s experience.

not a fan of front loaders, when i had my baby capsule hire business i could always tell when people had a front loader by the way the liner looked and felt.

i cried when my matag died after 15 plus years, that thing was fricken amazing, i now have a fisher and paykel washsmart, you just cant buy ones with mechanic knobs anymore! i was very pleasantly surprised, it does a great job and its a beast!

i have the same one in a smaller size at the beach house, it was my inlaws,

previously the brand had a really bad name, but our appliance guy said they have really improved. cleanmaid now own matag, and apart from the fact they are ugly, they are so expensive, he said even if it lasts you a third of the time as the matag did, your still in front and technology changes. it does a great job, they make a front loader too.

I've got a Samsung front loader, had it for 12 years still going strong. It says it has a ceramic heater inside which i think is unique to Samsung.

The only issues I have with front loader is that are noisy on spin cycles, also they are really heavy to move (they have concrete ballasts inside)

I bought my LG top loader on Black Saturday, feb 2009. Thought I'd so some washing as 46 degrees is good drying weather and the old machine crapped itself half way through a load.

So that's 12 years and still going strong, touch wood.

Behind my back my girlfriend gave our washing machine to her mother and she now has to do it all by hand. Second time it has happened. So ours is a manual top loader and it isn,t me.

Went tp the village and they were using it to wash mechanics rags etc from her brother in laws motorbike repair shop and I said "No more"
