TRI SERIES COMPETITION

Post by JLC »

Australia and England will play in the final i think.

Ive watched the South Africa v Sri Lanka series and i wasnt impressed by Sri Lanka

Muralitheran is injured and wont be touring.

Aravinda De Silva still gets a game

Their bowling attack lacks menace (except for Vaas)

They dont seem to use their brains when running between wickets

There is no Kaluwitherana to wreak havoc in first 15 overs

Jayasuriya is badly out of form

They will need a dramatic form reversal to be competitive. Maybe Australia will bring out the best in them ?

No, they are otherwise occupied playing against Pakistan.

There is no good opposition for Australia to play anywhere. The best practice the Aussies get is facing each other in the nets, it's the best v the best.

Good to see England finally get a victory. Its amazing how without the intimation of the aussies they actually played ok.

Harmison shows a bit of promise and a few of the batsman are getting amongst the runs. I would drop Irani down the order and promote stewart to number 3 so he comes in against the pace bowlers and bats in first 15 overs as he is a boundary hitter.

I hope they start playing Hollioake as well as he is an ok player. I still dont get why they dont play Butcher or Vaughan ?? They need one more specialist batsman so Irani can bat lower down.

Sri Lanka should improve and a couple of their batsman look pretty good. Didn't see them bowl but im sure the bowling will improve.

even tho england won the game they still showed how badly they can colapse, they lost 5 for 10 when they should have made atleast 320 they made 293, and andy caddick shouldnt be in the team, he's crap.

I think people under-rate England - they are not as bad as they seem.

The problem is that when they play the Aussies, like all other teams, they are playing the greatest side ever and are made to look like amatuer park cricketers (like me!). Australia is so far in front of everyone else it is ridiculous.

I beleive England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Sth Africa and New Zealand are all close in ability and could all beat each other at any time. But they have to step up 6 levels to match the Aussies.

West Indies are still re-building but will never be a force again like the Richards/Lloyd era. Zimbabwe play on a similar level as WI, but on a day out can match it with some. Bangladesh and the rest just will never cut it.

England just need one victory over Australia and their confidence will be sky high. I think England will make the final and when in the final who knows they could surprise. Afterall Collingwood were the underdogs in most of the finals series this year!! Lest we forget

The difference between Collingwood and England is that England has a losing mentalitty, Collingwood doesn't. Collingwood has more heart than that.

Well Collingwood had a losing mentality for quite a while until this year. Their was that self doubt that would creep in. If you watch England play against any other team in the world they have heart. Its just that Australia mentally has it all over them as well as ability wise. However one win against Australia and their spirits may rise!

Why don't England either drop Irani or move him down the order? I would move him to number seven and move Stewart up to number three!! Get Stewart in while the field is up and the pace bowlers are on.
