An old fashioned curtain raiser; you don't see those too often nowadays, and the game is poorer for it, for mine at least

In a strange twist of fate it's not only the seniors looking to secure an important win today against the Swans.

While a VFL win wont quite secure a top 4 finish unlike the seniors, a loss to Sydney (4th) will leave us remaining in 6th (unless Carlton win and gain enough %) and 4pts 5.2% (currently) behind them heading into the final round.

Sydney play the currently 5th placed Box Hill (presently 1% ahead of us) next round.

Bizarrely the VFL game next week will likely mirror the AFL and see Carlton currently in 8th (they play the undefeated Casey today) needing to beat us to play finals like their senior side while our senior side could also be in the same must win situation as our reserves to finish top 4 (or in the case of the VFL a chance to).

Going completely off topic but did anyone else notice that the AFL site last week had a Collingwood backline of:
Henry, Brown, Macrae

Looking at the team line up on the VFL website, 2 changes:

In: Molloy and Glover
Out: Bianco and C Brown

Swans controlling a depleted Collingwood VFL team. Poor entry to the fwd line making it extremely difficult for Henry and Madgen.
