The sooner the season is over for Collingwood, the better. Looking like an elimination final at Geelong at the moment.
Our forward line is too small. Where is Barber????
We will be better next season when our best midfielders return from injury.
Still need another tall forward though!

Tough game for the Pies.

Final score: Lions 8.7.55 defeated Pies 1.4.10

Goal: Jaimee Lambert
Best: Cann, Lambert, Sheridan, Allen, Brazill

Injuries: Molloy (head)

This comment encapsulates where the Pies are at this season:

"The result for Collingwood had nothing to do with lack of effort, they were simply half a class below on the night"

Pies still 5th on the ladder but % has taken a massive hit again. Gone is the hope of a home elimination final.

I think class is a small part of the women's game. It is very much a low skill cap. It is more about physical attributes that enables one team to eclipse another.

Those Lions girls are big, tall, strong, athletic and more aggressive with a superior fitness level to enable these attributes to shine. They play the game on a different plain. They are also filled with many girls that are blonde and tanned which is also a factor with an impact that is hard to measure but it plays a part psychologically. Physically our girls are not built to compete with the best.

Recruitment needs a big kick up the ass.

Now you need players that are not only tall but also mobile.
For someone like Sabrina Frederick the game has now passed her by.

With Tigers and North draw it looks like the Pies will get a home elimination final against the Bulldogs.

Pies may not last long in the finals but it was fun to watch North miss out on the double chance.
