How does the VFL and AFL work it out? How can you schedule an AFL and VFL bye in the same week? What an annoyance can't even give returning players a run in the VFL.

To me this is sheer stupidity. Unless someone can make a case for this or the reason, I remain convinced that it is yet another example of poor fixturing.
