I have just heard about a tweet from mitch cleary that Melbourne are sweating on scans re Fritsch's foot after the game against the Swans.
So you have to ask, why did Melbourne risk Fritsch, after coming off with pain in the same foot he already injured? Why did they send him back on the field in the final quarter, to win a game which did not influence their ladder position one iota? (After coming back on, he kicked 2 further goals, allowing them to clinch the game in the final quarter.)
So did they consider that the victory against the Swans and momentum moving forward into finals was more important than safeguarding Fritsch, but losing the game?
Fascinating to consider.
Contrasts with Carlton, who appeared to put on the brakes in the final half, despite incurring a loss.
All i can say is that I am happy that we were able to put on the brakes, and win!!

Swans/Blues.

Should be a ripper match.

"Finals are won above the shoulders as much as below them and it's here where Sydney might have an advantage.

The Swans boast 28 players with finals experience on their list compared to just eight for the Blues, with Sydney co-captain Luke Parker having played more finals games (22) than the entire Carlton side he'll face on Friday night.

How the Blues handle the enormous weight of expectation of a first finals appearance in a decade will be pivotal in determining the outcome.

On the flip side, the Swans have their own mental demons to overcome in their first September game since the nightmare of last year's Grand Final."

Grrr...

How is Heeney? Matthew Lloyd put the spotlight on him. He took notice. ("Will prove him wrong.")
