So long as dont give ANOTHER 5 GOALS START again, we should be OK, we have had two extra rest days over the Blue vermin. This match is definitely winnable, just hard to say which Collingwood team turns up, hopefully the last seasons vintage. Id rest/manage Sidey for this one.

Carlton will be favourites, but that shouldn't deter us. We'll be up for the fight and what perfect way to demonstrate our 2024 credentials by beating an arch-rival and fellow contender.

It will be a contrast of game styles. Carlton's stoppage game against our turnover game. Essendon killed us in stoppages, which is where they generated a lot of their scores from, and that's also Carlton's big strength with the likes of Walsh and Cripps in the middle so that's something to be wary of.

The key to us winning is bringing our pressure and intensity. If our pressure rating is approximately 195 or higher, then we'll be in business. Carlton struggle against teams with fast transition. Their defence has been leaking like a sieve in the past weeks. Today they conceded 118 points against Geelong, 98 points against GWS last week and 100 points the week before against Adelaide. Further to this, Geelong had 28 scores from 45 inside 50 entries today so it demonstrates Carlton's frailties in defence.

Looking forward to this. It's going to be a big one.

Bring in Dean to replace Frampton
Move Frampton to key forward
Bring in Sullivan or Macrae to help titch get the ball out.
Rest Sidebottom, Rest Crisp
Bring in Carmichael
Keep Harrison in
Put the team on B vitamins during the week
Lights out at 9:30 during the week and no shagging.

Bring in reason to replace hysteria.

Agree, rest Steele.
Both Sullivan and Fin were great in the VFL today, so bring in one.
Agree, Harrison plays.
Frampers stays where he is. He will take McKay.
Crisp goes nowhere. He will be going through the midfield.
Shagging is fine up until Wednesday night.
Go Pies!!

If you expect Dean to take either Charlie or Harry, then Fanning's 18 goal record is under threat.

Nothing I've seen in the vfl over the last 2 weeks would improve this team imo. Hope the extra 2 days rest plays in our favour and pray for no injuries as the cupboard is fairly bare.
With their injury list and our extra break there will be no excuses this week.
I know it's only one game but this is the one I feel that will really show us where we're at.

There must be changes
You simply can’t expect to go in with the same side who the previous 2 weeks have given up 5/6 answered goals to start a game
Pies2016 mentioned a while ago there must be integrity in selection which is fine but surely integrity in performance must be equally important
Mitchell can’t win every clearance alone which is basically what we’re asking him to. He needs support around him.
Putting Nick D in the centre isn’t the answer we need him outside using the ball. JDG needs to do more work at the coal face as well.
But we need to find someone else to come into that rotation as well
Be it McRae or Sullivan or why not try McCreery or Schulz ?
Carlton have speed to burn and like to spread it from the consent quickly and use the width of the ground and having one of there 3 talls leading up towards the contest.
We need to stop this spread or if it gets out have the speed outside to deal with it quickly
With them playing 3 talls now WHE might be needed to help out in defence for his leaping ability so he stays safe for this week.
Fly has shown he won’t make mass changes so you can expect 1 possibly 2 at most Im guessing

For mine it looks like

Out. Sidey
In. Sullivan or McRae
Harrison goes into starting side on the wing Sullivan or McRae could be sub or use Crisp as sub and start them on the bench and bring Crisp in a half time

They dominated clearance against Geelong but the Cats exposed them on the outside with their ball movement. It’s our only chance of beating them. Cameron and Cox will be vital especially given the way they setup at centre square their mids stand behind the opposition and Pittonet / De Koning hit to space. We need to nullify by winning hit outs.

Their forwards don’t scare me we need to win the midfield battle and expose their weaknesses in the back half.

We didn’t score a goal from stoppage on Anzac Day so need to do better here.

We have guys playing games on reputation not on form hoping that the form returns. That's not new and it only goes on for so long before tough calls are made. We should be better after a longer break and in saying that the Blues are playing good football.

Reporter: "It was a quieter game by Steele Sidebottom, but he was important in the last few minutes of the match. How did you see his game?"

Fly: "Steele is important to us when he's playing his role. A really hard runner. There are a lot of things unseen that he does for us. Unrewarded running, saves goals, gets back to support some others. There's plenty of more life left in those legs we hope."

Many don't need that affirmation. Some just don't and never will get it

Wright had a big game, Carlton's forward line has me very worried.

If De Goey, Pendles et.al let the ball out of the middle the way they did against the Bombers this game will be over by half time. McKay and Curnow will be far too good for our backline.

Hope I am wrong but if we are not extra vigilant in the middle...Carlton by alot.
