Quote:
Andrew Krakouer's salute brings shame

ANDREW Krakouer's jailhouse salute in last night's clash between Collingwood and Carlton has outraged footy fans.

Krakouer was jailed for 16 months for assault but last night Collingwood coach Mick Malthouse would not be drawn on the gesture.

Malthouse was only interested in what Krakouer, who scored two goals last night, would do in the future as he grows into the Pies' structure.

''This is him crawling at the moment. He'll learn to walk, then he'll learn to run under the system, metaphorically speaking,'' Malthouse said.

''He'll build his fitness base up gradually, he'll learn to understand our game gradually - be more consistent. He'll get better.''

Two dazzling goals by Krakouer in quick succession in the second term sparked a Collingwood breakaway, the second of them moving Krakouer to cross clenched fists over his wrists in symbolic salute.

Michael Horan then goes on to talk utter crap by saying Collingwood had a sober lesson in mortality last night. Did we lose? Shocked

As for the Krak.

Quote:
Leon Davis did the same thing two seasons ago in tribute to Krakouer while he was serving a prison term in Western Australia.

And good for you too Leon. Aren't prisoners part of our society? How did most of them get there anyway?

We get the prisoners our society deserves. And a bit of solidarity for them on the Krak's behalf is a good thing.

What's the drama? Good on you Krak!

The gesture is not unusual and has been used on several occasions by AFL players from a variety of AFL clubs.
Why is it now an "outrage"?

Didn't Tim Cahill get into strife over this gesture in the EPL? I think a brother was doing a stretch at the time.

I'm outraged that these society ponces would be outraged by a little solidarity. But for the grace of God, many more Aussies would go to jail too. They just weren't caught. Wink

And if it's Scum supporters complaining, God help us. They are the real social criminals!

Funny thing. Dont get footy Clas here in syd and have not missed it at all.
Nothing has come out of the show of any substance since Ive been here.
Even the "one week at a time" "game day" and yes "footy show" have items or interviews that have then been followed up in the press which I can read on line.
Nothing that Caro hack is on is worth reporting or stays newsworthy for any period of time.

Goddard did it for his brother in prison a few years back, they mentioned it during the game. This is getting a joke that Krakouer does it and now there's an issue.

The Krak is Collingwood now. i think that was the issue, not the fact there must have been 65,000 Collingwood supporters there last night Wink

I love Krakour, This is a good story that desreves no one to rubbish or put down..The guy has come back and made good with his life, Gee Whiz i was so sorry for him when he could of just about kicked the goal of the season last night.

The Krakour story is inspirational and im proud as bloody punch to see him play for Collingwood. He is a star within the indigenous community this is also a great PR story for Collingwood. Anyone who puts this bloke down can well and truly get stuffed.

Michael Horan sounds a bit disapointed that a person like our Krak can turn his life around and make such a go of it after being in jail.
It's going to be a long season for you Mr Horan.
