The bottom line is to look at the task we have. Flags are always hard to win and a lot has to happen in order to be premiers. Being prepared for unexpected challenges and circumstances is paramount to our success and this is where McRae will concentrate on, as well as the footy strategies and tactics. The mental side of preparation for the GF has never really been a Collingwood strong point up to now but with Psychologist Jackie Louder leading the way and with full support from McRae, we have a great setup. This is a huge step. The standard unknown is the role luck plays. Logically, I have never quite understood the term “you make your own luck”. If this was the case I would have won Tatts many times by now! We have to learn from history and expect that realistically there will be injuries, umpiring issues and other problems that bad luck can cause. Again we can deal with these issues with clever preparation and having ready solutions. These are all achievable and I have full confidence that we can do extremely well this year. _________________ I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. No greater demonstration of luck (bad) than the 1970 GF - Macca was ripping the Bluze several new Aholes until Tuddy ran through him and destroyed our forward line set up. |

Good call TP.
I remember going over for the '03 GF and at the final training session at VP some clown was giving out 'Collingwood Premiers 2003' bumper stickers.... That gave me a very bad feeling and we all know how that turned out. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Piesnchess is right but he failed to mention - Port Adelaide, Brisbane Lions, Melbourne and Geelong.
Last year we basically fell into 4th place. However, there was substantial improvement after the home and away season finished. Any one of the 4 mentioned sides could do that. Collingwood was the only real threat to Geelong in last year's finals but this year, the opposition to Collingwood is far stronger than last year's opposition to Geelong.
Craig McRae recently said that the forthcoming games against Port Adelaide, Carlton, Geelong, Brisbane Lions and Essendon were practice runs for the finals. Right on! |

I think you might be right. We need to be showing four quarters of dominance not just one quarter and then trying to defend the lead after the burst. if we dont dominate the four quarters, teams like Melbourne and Geelong will cut us up. _________________ We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. LOL 4 quarters is a myth - no team goes flat out for the entire game. |

Agree to disagree. I have seen plenty of Grand Finals where a team has gone flat out right from the start and totally dominated the game. _________________ I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️ |

The other top 3 sides have equal midfields to us which will make it very tough. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

How when we can't beat any other Top 4 Side?
