COLLINGWOOD football and coaching strategist Rodney Eade believes Irishman Martin Clarke will build on his 2012 return to football and emerge an improved player next season...

Fully agree with Eade's assessment. He'll dig deep during the pre-season this lad. Could be a much bigger bonus than some expect. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Not in our best 25 players. |

Two words: Self belief
Once he senses he belongs out there again, he will carve them up.
Enormous talent, and could you think of many players that could play 17 games in their first year back after a couple years out, albeit gaelic footy, its still a big adjustment, in terms of skill, physicality and pace of the game. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

Will do great. Very good and smart player. Out of sorts but to be expected.
He has only really only played 4 years of football in total. |

I reckon he'll become our designated tagger. He's got a fantastic engine and is extremely disciplined. At his best he's in our top 22 imo. |

Did you come down in the last shower? Marty's already shown the type of gun he can be. Remember 2007/2008?
He'll come good.
...and since when did Collingwood ever use 25 players in a season? In 2012 we used 37 throughout the course of the year, in 2011 we used 33 and in 2010 we used 36. |

I think Marty Clarke should become our tagger. When he did have the tagging role this year, he blossomed in the role. Remember ANZAC Day and when he tagged the in-form Brent Stanton and reduced his impact in the match greatly. He may have been the difference from us winning or losing since after all we did win by only a point in the end.
When he first began, Clarke should loads of potential throughout 2007 and 2008, but he fell away badly in 2009. I think another pre-season will do him the world of good. I feel his issue is fitness-based and he needs to adapt to the pace of the game once again. Marty won't be a stand-out player, but he can be a major contributor in our success in the future. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
