Let me answer that, they only had 3 decent albums, Sgt Peppers, The white Album and Abbey road during their stoner phase, without the drugs just another 4 chord joke selling pepsi to 12 year olds

Still, most pop music is crap though. You have bands like Nine Inch Nails, Placebo, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, but they're exceptions. And look the Beatles were pretty good, for their time at least. See also the Moody Blues, who I believe are highly under-rated.

Its still crap, it cant compare with the complexity of classical or Jazz, the giants of those disciplines are true genius, it makes me projectile vomit when I see the genius tag applied to a "pop" star or band
